Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1965 Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Mt. Pleasant High school Class of 1965 endowed fund is to award scholarships to graduating seniors or students who have previously graduated from MPHS and are seeking to further their education at an accredited college or university or trade school.
In 1990, while planning their 25th year class reunion, the Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1965 decided that they wanted to do something to help future graduates of MPHS. They decided to fund a scholarship program to assist students with the cost of furthering their education. So at their 25th year reunion, they held their first auction to benefit this scholarship program. In 1997, the auction became an annual event for the Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1965. In 2008, they established the Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1965 endowed scholarship fund at the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation. This fund will continue to award scholarships to graduates of Mt. Pleasant High School, now and for years to come, as a legacy of the Class of 1965. Scholarship preference will be given to students who are well-rounded, excel academically, are leaders in school activities and are involved in their community.
