Governor John Engler Scholarship Fund
John Engler was born and raised in Isabella County, the son of Agnes and the late Matt Engler, a Beal City farmer and cattleman. John Engler was elected Michigan's 46th governor, his tenure spanning from 1991 to 2003, making him Michigan's second longest-serving governor.
The Governor John Engler Scholarship fund was established to honor this Isabella County native and provide educational scholarships for Isabella County graduating high school seniors who wish to pursue an interest in public service.
Governor John Engler Scholarship Criteria:
Be an Isabella County high school graduating senior.
Demonstrate academic ability with a minimum 3.25 grade point average.
Be interested in pursuing a career in public service (public administration or non-profit sector, i.e. social work, law enforcement, government, etc.)
Exhibit outstanding attitude toward school and community.
