Goenner Family Scholarship Fund
Roger and Alice Goenner started the Goenner Family Scholarship Fund in the hopes it would give their entire family a place to invest in the community where they grew up. With six children and 18 grandchildren, they wanted to create a consolidation point for all of their family's giving.
The Goenners have lived in the Mt. Pleasant area since 1958 and believe in the community and MPACF. They decided to create a scholarship fund because they truly understand the value of education, as they both taught in the area. Roger was a professor of school administration at Central Michigan University for 30 years and Alice taught math, and coached basketball and track, at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools.
The Goenners have decided to focus their scholarship on deserving high school students from Sacred Heart Academy, where all of their children attended. They hope to give students the opportunity to grow and further their education at a collegiate level.
