Emerson W. and Marie K. Green Scholarship Fund

The Emerson W. and Marie K. Green Scholarship Fund was established to assist Shepherd High School graduates as they further their career goals through higher education in health related fields.

Emerson was a Registered Pharmacist and Marie a Registered Nurse and Licensed Professional Counselor. They were both active in the Shepherd community. Emerson served as President of both the Shepherd Board of Education and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as being active in St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and other organizations.

Marie was a school guidance counselor for Shepherd Public Schools. She was a member of the local American Red Cross, as well as the State Red Cross Service Council. Marie was a Red Cross National Mental Health volunteer for disasters for many years. She too was active in St. Vincent DePaul Parish, along with her involvement in many other community organizations.

Emerson and Marie encouraged young people to pursue their goals through higher education. This support was given to all in whatever career goal they endeavored and began with their own four children: Nora, Anne, Emerson III, and Patrick.
