Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

Carol Huber Konwinski and Jerel Konwinski Scholarship Fund

Longtime supporters of Sacred Heart Parish and the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation, Carol and Jerel Konwinski decided to support both in 2018, as part of their legacy to our community. Born and raised here in Isabella County, Carol graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1978. She was a dedicated employee of Central Plumbing in Mt. Pleasant for 36 years. Jerel moved to the community in 1972, and founded Konwinski Construction in 1977. His daughter, Melissa, graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1992. Carol and Jerel were married in 2000. Their scholarship fund will support graduates of Sacred Heart Academy as they pursue higher education.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Student shall be a high school senior graduating from Sacred Heart Academy.

  • Student shall be planning to enroll at an accredited college, university, or trade school.

Preferences:

  • Student has demonstrated financial need, as expressed in the applicant’s written essay.
