Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation

For good. For ever.

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grant making and providing leadership on key community issues.

Richards Leadership Fund

Tad and Laura Richards created the Richards Leadership Fund in 2010 to give back to the foundation and our community in a long lasting way. The Richards Leadership Fund will ensure the longevity of the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation (MPACF) by supporting administrative and operational costs. The Richards feel that this fund will not only help the foundation sustain itself, but also help the foundation grow in the future.

Laura has served on MPACF’s board for three years and the Richards have been active and engaged community members through a variety of community organizations since moving to Mt. Pleasant in the 1980s.   Through Laura’s work with helping MPACF move into their new home, the Hersee House, she found the inspiration to create the Richards Leadership Fund.  “It’s going to be a huge endeavor to operate this property,” said Laura,  “we want to be able to help the foundation with operational costs, and even maybe hire more staff in the future.”

"The success of the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation lays in the hands of involved community members, great leadership and a dedicated staff. We need to support the operating costs because it's at the core of what the foundations does," Laura said.
