James and Marilyn Bidwell Fund for Basic Human Needs
The James and Marilyn Bidwell Fund for Basic Human Needs was established in October of 2021. The fund will support the efforts of organizations in Isabella County meeting basic human needs, including but not limited to food, clothing and shelter. Thanks to the Bidwells, an example is being set for legacy giving through the establishment of their endowment.
Jim and Marilyn have been perennial fixtures in the Mt. Pleasant community for more than 50 years. Jim is a retired CMU faculty member and Marilyn is a CMU alumna, a retired elementary school teacher, and a life member of the League of Women Voters. They are both charter members of Art Reach and Friends of the Library, in addition to being supporters of Chippewa Watershed Conservancy, Morey Cancer Center, and the Humane Animal Treatment Society.
