Important Facts about the Women's Initiative Fund:
The Women's Initiative Fund was founded in 2003 to provide for the needs of women and girls in Isabella County, now and for generations to come. With this endowed fund, only the interest is spent; contributions to the Fund are never touched.
The Women's Initiative had an initial goal to raise $50,000, but raised more than $80,000 in just four weeks. The fund now holds more than $500,000!
The Fund awards grants annually to community organizations that provide important services and programs to the women and girls of Isabella County.
Women's Initiative Events:
The Women's Initiative hosts two annual fundraising events: Kay's Day, a social event in early summer, and the Look Who's Talking Speaker Series luncheon in October.

Why We Created the Fund:
"We learned that far too many women and girls in Isabella County were in need of serious help. Also, we believed that it was time for women to be given the opportunity to become philanthropists on their own - not as spouses or daughters, but as independent donors. And that's what happened. When the women of Isabella County learned that other women needed their help, they came through in a big way, and they continue to do so today!" - Co-Founders Judy F. Smith and Kay A. Smith
