First Presbyterian Church Fund
In October 2021, Jim and Marilyn Bidwell created the First Presbyterian Church Fund in honor of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Church, of which they have been members for 55 years. The endowment fund is designed to provide support to the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to carry out its role and mission according to its governing documents.
Their pastor, Andrew Miller wrote, “First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant MI (FPCMP) was established in 1871. As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), we do not see ourselves as a building but as a group of diverse people who are a part of the body of Christ. FPCMP glorifies God through meaningful worship, music, and service. We strive to shape disciples of Jesus Christ through a variety of Christian formation and fellowship opportunities for all ages. Outreach is also an important part of the life of FPCMP as we put our faith into action. A few ways that we do inward and outward outreach is hosting the Isabella Child Development Center, Classics at the Presby, Isabella County Restoration House, and AA. Additionally, we serve and support the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, Community Compassion Network, The Care Store, and Vowles Elementary School. As we live out God’s Word, FPCMP has, and will continue to, look outward as we, part of the body of Christ, build relationships with groups and agencies throughout the community.”
