HopeWell Ranch Fund
HopeWell Ranch was founded in Weidman, MI in 2004 and runs a non-profit equine therapy program. Recently, the HopeWell Ranch Fund was created to provide support and help carry out the ranch’s mission.
They provide EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) services for children, individuals, families, and veterans. These services include equine assisted counseling, learning, and professional development. They also run a program called Unbridled Potential, which aims to provide a free riding program for children with special needs during the summer. Their Veteran program “Project Solomon” is designed to assist military members who are struggling with PTSD.
The EAGALA program offers an opportunity for growth through equine assisted therapy and/or learning sessions. These sessions are facilitated by equine and mental health specialists. Participants do not ride but rather work with the horses to address and fix issues such as anger management, self-esteem, conflict resolution, attachment, substance abuse, and trauma. Additionally, the Equine Assisted Learning program helps teach improved communication and conflict resolution, teambuilding, vision building, and more.
