Jerry M. and Marilyn A. Morey Community Fund
Bandit Industries President Jerry Morey has always enjoyed living in Mt. Pleasant. He and his wife, Marilyn, raised their two children, Jennifer and David, who live locally and spend lots of time with their four grandchildren. Being an active member in the community, Jerry finds giving back important and thrives at the various opportunities to do so.
He has been an active member of Faith Weavers, a private organization that funds and grants thousands to international, national and local causes biannually. Here he’s had the opportunity to reach out to community needs and also the needs outside of the country.
In 2002, Jerry and his wife Marilyn established a community impact fund to help support the ever changing needs of the community. Since then, the fund has helped a variety of organizations including the American Red Cross, Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, Art Reach of Mid-Michigan and Isabella County Commission on Aging.
“There are a lot of good things that can be supported through the Community Foundation,” said Jerry. “It’s always going to be here.” For Jerry, a community impact fund seemed like the most logical investment. “The government doesn’t always fund what is needed.” Community impact funds fill the cracks ensuring that today’s funds fit tomorrow’s needs.
