Stewarded by Kevin and Melissa Langlois, this fund will be handed down to their children, Jaxson and Lauren, ensuring the family's philanthropic legacy continues for generations to come, embodying the spirit of Phil, Allie, Bryan, and Mark.
Philip Andre Langlois was born on Apr. 22, 1943, in Dearborn, MI. Philip worked as a self-employed builder and developer. His dedication to affordable housing, human services, and counseling programs through organizations like Listening Ear showcased his commitment to the community. Phil was active on the Listening Ear board and served on the zoning Board of Appeals from 1987 - 1996. In honor of his legacy, the Phil A. Langlois Fund was established, honoring his contributions to the community and to help fund counseling services for residents in Isabella County. Phil's philanthropic leadership, particularly during times of crisis, remains a guiding light for the Langlois Family Fund's mission to support vital community organizations.
Mary Alice "Allie" Langlois was born on Dec. 25, 1945, in Mt. Pleasant and led a life steeped in generosity and community service. After graduating from St. Alphonsus High School in Dearborn, MI, Allie met her former husband, Phil. Together, they moved to Mt. Pleasant, aiming to build a family and establish a business. Involved in various community initiatives, such as H.A.T.S, Art Walk Central, Women’s Initiative, Faith Weavers and the Mt. Pleasant Tourists Club, Allie's contributions left a lasting mark. As a landlord, she enjoyed working with the students of Central Michigan University, forging friendships that would last a lifetime.
Bryan Philip Langlois was born in Alma on Oct. 21, 1971, to Philip and Allie Langlois. Bryan was an active member of St. Mary's University Parish and a dedicated student at Mt. Pleasant High School. He was involved in student council and Boy Scouts of America. Bryan played a pivotal role in initiating the high school's ski team. The Bryan Langlois Student-Athlete Award was created in his memory, recognizing Mt. Pleasant High School athletes who exemplify hard work and dedication.
Mark Andre Langlois was born in Mt. Pleasant on Nov. 2, 1975, to Philip and Allie Langlois. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1994, Mark's journey took him across the western United States before he returned to contribute to his family's building and real estate ventures alongside his brother Kevin. In 2006, he moved back west and settled in Sandpoint, Idaho. Mark's adventurous spirit thrived through sailing, skiing, hunting, and captaining his boat, "Killin Time." A skilled builder by trade, he was a modern-day MacGyver. Mark's life was characterized by a love for adventure and a commitment to family.
