Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Fund
The Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Fund supports the wrestling program at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools. The expectation is that the wrestling coach annually selects one or more freshman, sophomore or junior students to participate in a summer wrestling camp at Central Michigan University. Additional funds can be used to support other needs of the wrestling program at Mt. Pleasant Public Schools.
In September of 1990, Chris Maniteau passed away. Christopher, who was a student at Mt. Pleasant High School, loved to wrestle and was talented at the sport. His family wanted youth wrestlers to benefit, as Chris did, from attending CMU wrestling camps. The family began awarding scholarships to high school wrestlers in 1991 and, in 2004, established the Chris Maniteau Memorial Wrestling Fund.
