Sleepy Dog Books Foundation
Established in 2025 by the founders of Sleepy Dog Books, this fund was created to provide a stable and lasting foundation for the growth of the Sleepy Dog Books Foundation and its mission to expand access to high-quality literacy resources for children across Middle Michigan and beyond.
The fund serves as the backbone of the Foundation’s long-term strategic planning, helping to ensure operational sustainability while enabling 100% of externally raised dollars to directly support impactful literacy programs. From outreach events to book donations and resource development, every initiative aims to put more books into the hands and homes of young readers—empowering them to grow, learn, and thrive.
Born out of the success and community response to the Sleepy Dog Books bookstore, the Foundation was established after recognizing a deeper, more urgent need for literacy support in the region. With a team of passionate educators at its helm, the Foundation is committed to fostering a culture of reading, advancing literacy equity, and inspiring lifelong learning.
