Midland (MI) Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship Fund
Established in 2023, the Midland (MI) Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship Fund was created in honor of 40 years of service by the Midland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
The Midland (MI) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., received its charter on March 17, 1984, thanks to the dedication of 12 courageous women committed to community service and driven by the same vision and purpose as the original 22 Founders of their beloved Sorority. The chapter's focus reflects that of their international organization, encompassing sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. The major programs of the Sorority align with the Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement/Social Action.
This fund aims to alleviate financial burdens for African American students graduating from an Isabella County high school or is currently enrolled in Central Michigan University or Mid Michigan College. By creating this fund, the chapter aims to create a lasting legacy and enable African American students to reach their personal goals. As the scholarship is endowed, its impact will endure, contributing to the chapter’s legacy and benefiting future students.
