The Care Store Fund
The Care Store (TCS), born from the Mt. Pleasant Community Church's outreach, has been a lifeline for countless individuals and families in need since its doors swung open on October 1, 2017. Nestled within the William and Janet Strickler Nonprofit Center, TCS has a special place in its heart for the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population and those living below the poverty line.
Here's how TCS works: folks referred by care agencies get their hands on Care Bucks from local human services agencies. They can use these bucks to stock up on essential personal and household care items that can't be bought with a Bridge Card. The number of Care Bucks depends on each person's needs and their household size. And guess what? TCS goes the extra mile for veterans and their families too!
At the core of TCS's mission is a simple idea: provide essential items to people in need with care and kindness. And they do this while treating guests with dignity and respect. One grateful guest said it best: "Thank you for not making us feel like paupers."
TCS is all about filling the gap when it comes to care products that help people maintain clean, healthy homes and bodies. To keep this wonderful initiative going, they've created the TCS fund, ensuring that they can continue to provide these life-changing items for years to come.
As TCS continues to be a shining light for those they serve, they remain a beacon of hope and support for people in need. With a big heart and unwavering dedication, TCS is making a difference, one household at a time.
