Community Foundation Welcomes New Program Officer
The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation welcomes Brittany Sherrill to the role of Program Officer. Ms. Sherrill will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s grantmaking and scholarship activities. She will serve as a resource for local nonprofits, schools, and units of government interested in pursuing grant funding through the Foundation, and will also support local students applying for Foundation scholarships.
A Central Michigan University alumna and resident of Isabella County, Ms. Sherrill has previous nonprofit experience working with Creative Beginnings and the Midland Center for the Arts. Most recently, she served the City of Mt. Pleasant as a Special Event Coordinator for Downtown Mt. Pleasant.
“Brittany’s impressive skill set, pleasant disposition, and love for our community are a great fit with the mission of the Community Foundation,” said Executive Director Amanda Schafer.
Ms. Sherrill begins training this month, and takes over for former Program Officer Jessicca Sommer. “Jessicca did an outstanding job as our first ever Program Officer,” said Schafer. “The Trustees and I are grateful for her dedication over the last two years and wish her well in her new role serving our community through the RESD.”
