Community Foundation Welcomes New Trustee: Tony Rau
The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation (MPACF) is pleased to announce Tony Rau’s appointment to its Board of Trustees.
Tony graduated from Beal City High School and Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Entrepreneurship. He has worked at Fastenal for nearly two decades and currently holds the position of Customer Solutions Consultant. Tony and his wife, Leah, have two children: Gabe, a seventh-grader, and Evelyn, a fifth-grader.
Tony’s journey with the Community Foundation began when he joined the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) at age 12. In 2020, Tony became a YAC advisor. “Being involved with the YAC has been an awesome experience,” Tony says. “It helped me recognize community needs that often go unnoticed if you’re not looking for them. The Foundation has been a critical component in coordinating assistance for decades, and I’m excited to be joining the Board of Trustees.”
Tony is also an active member of St. Vincent de Paul in Shepherd and the Shepherd Knights of Columbus, where he serves as Deputy Grand Knight.
The Community Foundation is excited to have Tony on board, knowing his dedication to youth development and community engagement will help strengthen its ongoing mission. “Joining the Board of Trustees provides an opportunity to be even further involved in the community and address needs outside of the YAC’s scope,” Tony notes.
Tony joins 23 other community members with diverse professional expertise and organizational experience.
MPACF is a tax-exempt public charity that seeks to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Isabella County, now and for generations to come, by attracting and holding permanent endowed funds from a wide range of donors, addressing needs through grantmaking, and providing leadership on key community issues.
