Community Foundation Celebrates a Successful Year at the Annual Breakfast
Mt. Pleasant, MI – The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation recently hosted its Annual Breakfast on Nov 8, 2023, bringing together over 200 attendees, including community members, donors, volunteers, sponsors, and non profit representatives.
Alysha Pasquali, MPACF's new CEO/COO, opened the event by sharing her personal journey into philanthropy and the alignment of her values with the Foundation's mission. Acknowledging the role of the 2023 sponsors, Pasquali highlighted how their unwavering support empowers the Foundation to continuously make a lasting impact on our local community. This collective effort also ensures the ongoing operation of MPACF year after year.
Marcie Otteman, the current MPACF Board of Trustees President, recognized the Youth Advisory Committee and the Women's Initiative for their many successful years of service making our community better. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Youth Advisory Committee and the 20th anniversary of Women's Initiative.
Through two videos, the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen and the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum showcased the importance of endowment funds and how these funds can be utilized to benefit those in Isabella County. Additionally, both organizations spoke about being grant recipients and how this too impacts the good they can do in our community.
Nancy Ridley, Emeritus Trustee and current Grant Review Committee Co-Chair, announced the cycle 2 competitive grantees. A total of $114,882.84 has been awarded to 20 different local organizations directly impacting those in need in our community. The Foundation has awarded more than $250,000 through competitive grantmaking this year. These grants were made possible through various community funds, emphasizing the Foundation's commitment to supporting valuable projects in Isabella County.
The Annual Breakfast highlighted MPACF's achievements and its unwavering community commitment, promising a brighter future for all. The Community Foundation looks forward to celebrating next year.
