Community Foundation awards more than $199,000 in scholarships to local students

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI, April 29, 2025 - The Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation (MPACF) today announced the recipients of its 2025 Scholarship Awards. MPACF will award 120 scholarships totaling $199,800 to local students during a Scholarship Celebration on June 2, 2025. The endowment funds generating these scholarships were established by individuals, businesses, and organizations to help local students pursue their educational goals. Each scholarship is unique and reflects the values and interests of those who established it. Most of the scholarships support high school students planning to attend an accredited college, university or trade school in the fall.

“During the last decade, over one million dollars have been awarded in scholarships,” said Liz Conway, MPACF CEO/COO. “We would like to thank the individuals, businesses and organizations who make it possible for us to impact more than 100 students each year.”

“I am so grateful to the 132 dedicated volunteers who helped review over 1,400 scholarship applications.” said Jaimie Capen-Cascaddan, Program Officer at MPACF. “We also thank our inspiring scholars who took the time to apply.”
